The success of J.R. Jones Roofing has always been the people. We show that our belief in people is strong by heavily investing in training and development. A foundational element for J.R. Jones Roofing since the early days, but formalized more recently through instructional design and the creation of two proprietary educational service platforms that are offered to all our team members.

  • It all begins with a safety. Roofing and waterproofing are no joke, high risk jobs. All of our team members are required to attend DFU during onboarding and continuously throughout their time at J.R. Jones Roofing and Waterproofing. Why? Everyone must go home at the end of the night.

    The programs contained within the DFU curriculum cover all topics from PPE, ladder safety, rigging, and much more all the way to fall protection. Additionally, there are courses designed to impact not just practical rules of safety but changing behaviors and emotions to align them with a safe mindset. DFU is an all encompassing, fully immersive, continuous safety training platform.

  • “How can I do more?” That question was at the heart of creating the FutureJones program.

    This platform was created to deliver courses in technical knowledge, roofing techniques, behaviors, soft skills, and specialized certifications, in addition to career pathing, for all of our field team members. Courses such as “Leadership I - III,” “Lead by Example,” “Coaching Up,” “Organize Work Flows,” “How to Set Up Project Controls,” and “Roof Torch Techniques I - IV” are just a few examples of what is provided through the FutureJones platform.

  • J.R. Jones Roofing & Waterproofing believes there is no end to education. The SMRT-1 platform is our in-house training platform for the office team members; providing cross training, soft skills, leadership courses, and communication techniques.

    Courses such as “Intentional Leadership,” “Lead by Example,” “Consistent Communication Strategies,” “Partner Service Strategies,” and “Owning the Service Moment” are just examples of the type of content available.

    Each team member has the opportunity to grow personally and professionally through the SMRT-1 platform.
